The Department of Sustainable Technology and the Built Environment offers graduate assistantships throughout the calendar year. Graduate assistants serve the department in a variety of capacities: on funded research projects, as assistants to graduate faculty members, or as instructors in selected courses. Full-time graduate, research, and teaching assistants work 20 hours per week for 15 weeks each semester. Stipends for full-time GAs range from $9,000 to $11,000 for the academic year. Part-time GAs work 10 hours per week for 15 weeks per semester. Stipends for part-time graduate assistantships range from $4,500 to $5,500 per academic year.

Recipients of assistantships must be fully admitted to a graduate degree program and must carry a full-time course load of 9-12 semester hours. An application for an assistantship must be completed and submitted to the Graduate School with your application, or prior to consideration for an assistantship. It is also highly recommended that you contact the program coordinator, Dr. Jeff Ramsdell, at, to inform him of your interest as soon as your application is submitted.
