STBE Students Ethan Wittig, Skyler Strzelecki, Jonathan Culpepper, and Joseph Crews Receive Leadership and Research Awards

Over the last few weeks, a number of students in the STBE Department have been recognized for their incredible leadership, research, and service. One of our undergraduate students, Ethan Wittig, received the Dr. Jim Street Award for Outstanding Presidential Leadership with the Student Builders Association. This award recognized an outstanding individual who advanced the mission of their student organization while challenging and encouraging the membership to advance new initiatives, acquire new skills, and prepare the group for leadership transition and ongoing success.

Additionally, one of our graduate students, Skyler Strzelecki, received the 2024-2025 Domer Graduate Research Award, which recognizes outstanding research, scholarly excellence, high quality presentation, and research significance.

Jonathan Culpepper, another one of our graduate students, received ongoing recognition for winning the Three Minute Thesis Competition, in which he competed against 12 students to present a concise summary of his research in three minutes with the help of only one static slide.

Finally, our graduate student Joseph Crews, received the Outstanding Graduate Student Service Award, which recognizes graduate students who have contributed greatly to graduate student life in their department, off-campus cohorts, or on campus during the academic year.

We are so proud of these students, and we look forward to seeing what they will do next!
