Appalachian State Team Wins First Place in USDOE Race to Zero Competition 2016

A team of students won first-place honors in the US Department of Energy Race to Zero competition 2016 in the "Suburban Single-Family Housing" contest for their entry Resilient House. The creation of Team (Re)Connect, the house was planned for a coastal location and was designed to be "not only sustainable and zero-energy ready, but also resilient in the face of increasingly harsh weather due to climate change." Team (Re)Connect included graduate students Reid Anderson, Tyler Boyes, Taylor Brunson (AT concentration, May 2016), Rob Howard, Emil DeJong, and Andrew Lewis.
