From February 16th-18th, a team of our STBE students attended the NAHB Student Competition at the International Builders' Show (IBS) in Orlando, FL. As described by NAHB, "the competition gives students the opportunity to apply skills learned in the classroom to a real construction company by completing a management project/proposal. Proposals are submitted to a group of construction company executives who act as judges." Our student team, led by faculty member Rob Howard, brought home the title of Rookie of the Year in the Custom/Small Home Builder category for the 2026 competition! There were six first-year teams this year, and the App State win points to the dedication, mastery, and hard work of the STBE student team.
