Career Fair

Every semester, the STBE department puts on the Construction, Design, and Sustainable Technology Career Fair in the Holmes Convocation Center. Serving students and alumni in STBE, the event hosts on average 100+ organizations across the construction, design, and sustainable technology industry that are ready to network with students and introduce them to valuable internship and job opportunities, while also creating a pipeline of potential future interns and new hires. This is a targeted fair for students of all class levels in the STBE discipline. Please see below for quotes from companies and students about why they attend the STBE CDST Career Fair, as well as PDFs linking to organizations who have attended in the past.

Spring 2025 Career Fair Companies

Quotes from students and organizations:

"The reason that we come, and we come often, is because at Thalle, we have quite a few of your Construction Management alumni on staff, including my right-hand person Erin. We love Appalachian, we love the people we get from y'all, and I'm a proud alumni!" - Pricella Andrew, Thalle Construction

"We love coming to Appalachian State. We find great students, they fit our company values, they do a great job for us, and we continue to get great people out of this university. We also have a lot of alumni, so we like to come back here to give back and give students great opportunities to come work for the company." - John Taylor, Moss & Associates Construction and Solar Division

"We've been involved with App State for a long time now. It really boils down to: we have quite a lot of App State hires, and every single one of them have been slam dunks. We love the mission of the department, and we look forward to being here again and again as things keep growing." - Gabriel Johnson, Southern Energy Management

"One of the reasons I like coming to the Career Fair is to get firsthand accounts from employees at each company and get an understanding of what you'll actually be doing if you were to work for them. The Career Fair has also allowed me to gain a lot of opportunities - I've gotten 3 internships from this Career Fair - so it's a really, really worthwhile event to come to." - Jonathan Culpepper, Graduate Student

"What I get out of the Career Fair is exposure to different pathways that we have in the industry, and I think it's a great way to see what's possible career-wise and get you exposure to regional companies." - Wes Dekle, Graduate Student

"I like coming to the Career Fair because it's a good opportunity to network with companies, see what you want to do, hear people's experiences, and really just get your foot in the door." - Max Langley, Undergraduate Student
