Dr. Marie Hoepfl honored with Appalachian’s Graduate Faculty Award

Dr. Marie Hoepfl, professor and graduate program director for the Department of Sustainable Technology and the Built Environment, has been awarded the 2019 Distinguished Graduate Faculty Award.

The award is designed to recognize a faculty member who is engaged in the graduate education enterprise as an outstanding teacher, mentor and scholar.

“It means a great deal to me to be recognized in this way,” Hoepfl explained. “I've been involved with graduate education throughout my entire time at Appalachian, and have been our departmental graduate program director since 2003. Over the years I've had the privilege to work with many outstanding graduate students and it has been a joy to work with and mentor them.”

A faculty member since 1997, Hoepfl says the majority of Appalachian’s graduate programs are at the masters level and are an “excellent training ground for professional careers or for doctoral study.”...  (Click View Original for full story)
