Appalachian State University and our department are so proud that our Solar Vehicle Team recently finished with ROSE in 2nd place in the 2022 American Solar Challenge. This competitive team won the Electrical Systems Award for the second year in a row thanks to their talented electrical team. The Appalachian State University Solar Vehicle Team is driven to harness the power of the sun as an alternative energy source. Comprised of Appalachian State students from a variety of majors, these students push the boundaries of renewable technology by creating Appalachian's first competition-ready solar vehicle and regularly placing in national contests.
